🏗️ Estimator - Social Housing Refurbishment
📍 Location: Stoke-on-Trent
🏡 Hybrid working
We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join a work-winning team focused on social housing refurbishment and improvement programmes.
This role would suit someone with strong contractor-side estimating experience who can take ownership of cost build-ups, price refurbishment works from first principles and produce clear, accurate estimates that can be handed over smoothly to delivery teams.
🔎 The Role
You will be responsible for pricing refurbishment tenders across social housing projects, working closely with bid and delivery colleagues to ensure estimates are realistic, commercially sound and suitable for works in occupied properties.

✅ Key Responsibilities
• Price refurbishment tenders across social housing improvement programmes • Measure works and build estimates from first principles • Use SMM7, NRM or equivalent measurement methods • Turn drawings, specifications and property schedules into clear pricing scopes • Assess and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations • Identify risks, exclusions, preliminaries and clarification points • Work closely with bid and delivery teams to ensure estimates are practical and realistic • Produce clear, checkable estimates and handover information for delivery teams
👤 What we are looking for
• Hands-on refurbishment estimating experience • Contractor-side background • Social housing experience across kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, windows, doors, building fabric or similar workstreams • Personal ownership of cost build-ups, not just bid coordination • Good understanding of access, existing conditions and working in occupied properties • Strong numerical checking and clear written communication • Causeway or similar estimating software experience would be useful, but is not essential
