Estimator – Solar PV / Electrical Remedial Works
Location
Norfolk / East Anglia
Working Pattern
Hybrid – approximately 2 days per week in the office
Salary
£45,000 – £50,000
The Opportunity
We are working with a growing specialist Solar PV Operations & Maintenance provider supporting commercial and industrial solar installations across the UK.
As the company's portfolio and pipeline of work continues to expand, they are looking to appoint an Estimator to join their technical function.
This is not a traditional drawing-led estimating role.
Instead, the position requires someone with strong practical electrical or engineering knowledge who can review reports and photographs submitted by field engineers, understand the remedial work required and accurately price the work for customers.
The Role
Sitting within the technical function and working closely with the Technical Manager, you will help convert engineering findings from Solar PV sites into commercially accurate quotations and scopes of remedial work.
Field engineers complete inspections and maintenance visits before submitting reports, photographs and details of identified defects. Your role will be to assess this information, understand what is required and produce the associated quotation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
