Emtec Utility Services is helping drive the transition to a more sustainable future by delivering innovative engineering solutions across the energy sector. From renewable energy infrastructure to grid-scale developments, our teams are building the foundations for tomorrow’s energy systems.

With an impressive pipeline of work and ambitious plans for growth, we’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team based at our Uddingston office.

This is a great opportunity to get involved at the earliest stage of exciting utilities projects, helping shape winning solutions and supporting their journey from initial enquiry through to delivery.

The Role

As an Estimator, you’ll play an important part in securing new work by producing accurate, competitive and commercially sound tender submissions.

Working closely with our design, commercial and operational teams, you’ll review project requirements, prepare detailed costings and help develop practical solutions that meet both technical standards and client expectations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing detailed take-offs and bills of quantities for tender opportunities.
  • Producing accurate customer quotations and project costings.
  • Completing quotation letters, PQQs and ITT submissions.
  • Reviewing specifications and drawings for accuracy and buildability.
  • Supporting the early design and development of potential contracts.
  • Assisting with the planning and preparation of larger projects.
  • Developing strong relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to produce high-quality tender submissions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
