Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-focused Estimator to join their team.
Working hours
Monday to Friday 8:30-5:30
You’ll be responsible for reviewing customer enquiries, specifications, technical drawings and project information to prepare accurate, competitive and commercially viable quotations.
Working closely with customers and teams across Sales, Technical, Production Control and Manufacturing, you’ll ensure requirements are clearly understood and that proposed solutions are practical, technically appropriate and deliverable. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to develop strong product and technical knowledge while playing an important part in supporting both customers and the wider commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, complete and timely quotations from customer enquiries, drawings, specifications and schedules.
- Review project information and identify any missing, unclear or conflicting requirements.
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to clarify scope, assumptions, exclusions and technical requirements.
- Manage quotation revisions and ensure responses are delivered within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain accurate quotation records, systems, documentation and status updates.
- Work closely with Sales, Technical, Production Control and Manufacturing to ensure solutions are practical, compliant, manufacturable and commercially viable.
- Develop a strong knowledge of products, applications and estimating processes.
- Support Regional Sales Managers with pricing, quotation revisions and project/customer queries.
- Attend internal, customer and online meetings as required.
- Keep the Estimating Manager updated on workload, priorities, progress and any potential issues.
- Contribute to process improvements, special projects and wider team objectives.

We’re looking for someone with strong attention to detail, good commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines effectively. Ideally, you’ll have:
- Experience preparing estimates, quotations or tenders.
- Experience within manufacturing, construction, joinery, doorsets or building products is desirable.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and schedules.
- Experience liaising with customers and internal teams to resolve technical or commercial queries.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
