Estimator - Manchester / Warrington

We're looking for an Estimator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in civil engineering or infrastructure who enjoys analysing costs, developing competitive tenders and working closely with project teams to deliver winning solutions.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
  • Producing analytical cost estimates and tender submissions.
  • Pricing materials, plant and subcontract packages.
  • Reviewing subcontractor quotations and carrying out technical and commercial assessments.
  • Using estimating software to prepare accurate and competitive bids.
  • Working with bid teams to develop innovative and alternative construction solutions.
  • Preparing cash flow forecasts and capital expenditure forecasts.
  • Attending site visits during the tender period.
  • Supporting the delivery of projects while building strong client relationships.
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and professional development across the team.

What we're looking for

  • Experience preparing estimates within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector.
  • Experience pricing work under NEC contracts (or other major forms of contract), including Fixed Price, Target Cost, Design & Build or ECI.
  • A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status, or actively working towards it, is desirable.
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • A good technical understanding of civil engineering construction methods.
  • The ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
