Join G3 Systems
G3 Systems is a specialist engineering, infrastructure and life-support solutions provider, delivering complex projects for defence, government and commercial customers across the UK and internationally.

Our work spans deployable infrastructure, construction, engineering and facilities operations, often within challenging and highly regulated environments. As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Commercial team and play a key role in developing competitive, accurate and commercially robust tender submissions.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, timely and commercially competitive cost estimates for a range of defence, government and commercial construction, engineering and infrastructure projects.

Working closely with Business Development, Engineering, Procurement, Project Management and Finance, you will analyse tender requirements, develop detailed pricing models, obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, and identify commercial, technical and programme risks.

You will play an important role in helping G3 Systems secure profitable contracts, supporting opportunities across the UK and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review Invitations to Tender (ITT), Requests for Proposal (RFP) and customer documentation.
  • Analyse specifications, drawings, schedules and Bills of Quantities.
  • Produce detailed estimates covering labour, materials, plant, equipment and subcontract services.
  • Develop comprehensive cost models, pricing schedules and tender submissions.
  • Obtain, evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Liaise with Engineering teams to validate technical assumptions and estimating inputs.
  • Support value engineering activities to optimise project costs.
  • Identify commercial, programme and technical risks during bid preparation.
  • Assist in developing pricing strategies that maintain competitiveness while protecting company margin.
  • Prepare tender clarifications, exclusions, qualifications and pricing assumptions.
  • Participate in internal bid reviews and governance meetings.
  • Maintain estimating databases, cost libraries and historical cost records.
  • Support post-tender negotiations and commercial discussions where required.
  • Work alongside Procurement to understand current market pricing and supply-chain trends.
  • Ensure estimates comply with G3 Systems' governance procedures and customer requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes, tools and templates.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of commercially sensitive information.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
