Job Purpose

To support the delivery of the Tottenham Hotspur Girls Academy Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) programme by providing high-quality coaching in line with the Club's playing philosophy and The FA Emerging Talent Centre standards

To create a safe, enjoyable and player-centred environment that supports the technical, tactical, physical, psychological and social development of players within the Girls Academy pathway

To work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to maximise individual player development and contribute to the long-term success of the Academy

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate coaching sessions in line with the Tottenham Hotspur Girls Academy curriculum and playing philosophy
  • Support the development of players through high-quality coaching, individual feedback and player reviews
  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) alongside the multidisciplinary team
  • Prepare, deliver and evaluate training sessions in line with Academy objectives and The FA ETC programme
  • Support players during fixtures, festivals and tournaments, ensuring a positive learning environment
  • Monitor player attendance, engagement and progression, maintaining accurate coaching records where required
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of ETC, Talent ID staff and wider multidisciplinary team to support player development and progression through the Academy pathway
  • Build positive relationships with players and parents, providing appropriate communication and feedback
  • Promote an inclusive, positive and enjoyable learning environment where every player feels valued and supported
  • Ensure all coaching sessions are delivered in accordance with safeguarding, health & safety and equality standards
  • Assist with player assessments and provide observations to support recruitment and retention decisions
  • Attend coach development events, CPD opportunities and internal meetings as required
  • Support Academy events, festivals, talent identification activities and recruitment initiatives where required
  • Maintain equipment and ensure all facilities are prepared appropriately for coaching sessions.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for Tottenham Hotspur at all times
  • Be available to work evenings, weekends and travel where required

Safeguarding Responsibilities

Person Specification

Specific Experience

Essential

  • UEFA C Coaching Licence
  • Experience coaching within girls' football, grassroots, academy, school or community environments
  • Experience planning and delivering engaging coaching sessions for children and young people
  • Knowledge of long-term player development and age-appropriate coaching practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with players, parents and colleagues
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion within youth football
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage session planning and administration
  • FA Introduction to First Aid in Football (or willingness to obtain)
  • FA Safeguarding Children qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undertake)

Desirable

  • UEFA B Coaching Licence
  • Experience working within an Emerging Talent Centre (ETC), Regional Talent Club (RTC) or Professional Game Academy
  • Experience coaching female players within an elite or talent development environment
  • Knowledge of The FA Women's Player Pathway and Emerging Talent Centre framework
  • Experience contributing to Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
  • Experience working alongside multidisciplinary staff including medical, sport science and player care practitioners
  • Talent ID or scouting experience
