The Role
The Club is seeking a Strength & Conditioning Coach to support the delivery of the Tottenham Hotspur Girls Academy Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) programme.
Working within the multidisciplinary team, the role will support the physical development of players through the delivery of age-appropriate, evidence-informed strength and conditioning practices.
The successful applicant will help create a safe, engaging and player-centred physical development environment, supporting players to develop the physical qualities, movement skills and confidence required to maximise their potential and progress through the Academy pathway.
The role will require evening and weekend work, alongside attendance at fixtures, festivals, tournaments and Academy events as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate strength and conditioning sessions in line with the Tottenham Hotspur Girls Academy physical development philosophy and The FA Emerging Talent Centre framework
- Support the long-term athletic development of players, considering age, maturation, training experience and individual needs
- Develop fundamental movement competency, strength, speed, power, agility, coordination and mobility appropriate to the developmental stage of each player
- Support the delivery of individual physical development programmes in collaboration with coaching and multidisciplinary staff
- Contribute to Individual Development Plans (IDPs), providing appropriate physical development objectives and feedback
- Support the physical preparation of players for training, fixtures, festivals and tournaments
- Assist with the delivery of pre-training and post-training physical development activities where required
- Support appropriate injury prevention strategies in collaboration with medical and sports science staff
- Support the safe progression of players returning from injury, working within the guidance of the medical and multidisciplinary team
- Monitor player engagement and physical development, maintaining accurate records where required
- Contribute to the collection and recording of relevant physical testing and monitoring information
- Communicate effectively with coaches and multidisciplinary staff regarding player physical needs and training requirements
- Provide clear and age-appropriate feedback and education to players to encourage ownership of their physical development
- Contribute to player reviews and provide relevant observations to support individual development
- Support talent identification activities where appropriate, providing observations on physical development and potential
- Maintain a high standard of organisation within the strength and conditioning environment, ensuring equipment is safe, clean and in good working order
- Attend relevant Academy meetings, CPD events and coach development opportunities
- Support Academy fixtures, festivals, tournaments and events as required.
- Ensure all activity is delivered in accordance with Club safeguarding, health & safety, equality, diversity and inclusion policies
- Act as a positive ambassador for Tottenham Hotspur at all times
- Be available to work evenings, weekends and travel where required

Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
- Act in accordance with the organisation’s safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
- Be alert to signs of abuse, neglect, or safeguarding concerns and report these appropriately
- Maintain professional boundaries and act as a positive role model when working with or around children
- Attend safeguarding training as required and keep knowledge up to date
Person Specification
Qualification
Essential
- A degree in a relevant subject, such as a BSc in Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning or a related discipline, or a BA in Physical Education / Primary Years Education or equivalent
- Hold one of the following recognised strength and conditioning qualifications:
- UKSCA Trainer Award
- Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) Level 2 or above
- NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) qualification
- CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach)
- Where the applicant does not hold one of the above strength and conditioning qualifications, they must have commenced the UKSCA Trainer Award by the start of the 2026/27 season or within 12 months of commencing employment
- FA DBS clearance must be in place prior to starting the role
- FA Safeguarding Children Course must be completed prior to starting the role
- FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAIF) or FA Emergency First Aid qualification must be in place prior to starting the role
Desired
- Postgraduate qualification in Strength & Conditioning, Sport Science, Physical Education or a related discipline.
- Additional qualifications or CPD relating to youth athletic development, long-term athlete development or female athlete development.
- Experience or qualifications relating to the physical development of female youth athletes.

Experience
Essential
- Experience delivering strength and conditioning or physical development programmes to children and young people
- Experience working within football, sport, academy, school, grassroots or talent development environments
- Understanding of long-term athletic development and age-appropriate physical preparation
- Experience planning and delivering engaging physical development sessions
- Experience working collaboratively within a coaching or multidisciplinary team
- Understanding of safeguarding when working with children and young people
Desirable
- Experience working within an ETC, RTC, Professional Game Academy or equivalent talent development environment
- Experience working with female footballers
- Experience supporting players through different stages of growth and maturation
- Experience contributing to Individual Development Plans
- Experience working alongside medical, sports science and coaching staff
- Knowledge of The FA Women's Player Pathway and Emerging Talent Centre framework
