Work Location
All positions are considered on-site roles.
After six months of employment, some positions may be eligible to apply for a hybrid work arrangement based on job responsibilities, operational needs, supervisor approval, and Dallas College policy.
Academic (Faculty) positions require an on-campus presence, even when teaching online courses, in accordance with state law.

Position Summary
Provides direct tutorial, training and/or instructional lab support to students and laboratory personnel in an instructionally supervised laboratory.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good understanding of laboratory and lab information systems and automated laboratory equipment.
- Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports.
- Able to have a great degree of knowledge based on instructional programs.
- Able to collaborate and work with faculty and staff.
- Knowledge of safe use and disposition of hazardous chemicals.
- Able to perform laboratory tests including pre and post analytic phases.
- Able to document activities, record results and insert/retrieve data.
- Must have strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, detail-oriented approach to work, strong decision-making skills, good follow-up, ability to complete tasks.
- Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.

Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a standard office/lab environment. May be exposed to hazards within the laboratory environment, including but not limited to, potential exposure to contaminated blood and chemicals, etc. May require occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds. Physical activities may require bending, standing, climbing, or walking. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with physical challenges to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, associate degree is preferred.
- Official transcripts are required.
Will be subject to a criminal background check. Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, prepares laboratory experiments/exercises necessary to demonstrate learning experiences taught by course instructor in lab environment.
- Assist in the supervision of lab activities to ensure a safe learning environment.
- Provide clerical support to include ordering, cataloging, and maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Work with instructors to demonstrate procedures and use equipment and materials.
- Troubleshoot experiments and testing new experiments and procedures.
- Participate in periodic inventory of capital equipment.
- Troubleshoots minor equipment repairs; may coordinate major repairs with vendors or college repair department.
- Maintain a variety of related records and provide information required for decision making.
- Utilizes excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with internal/external stakeholders and constituents within the Dallas College community network.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
