Business Analyst SME in the Power trading space is needed for a commodities & energy trading firm, covering both physical & derivative trading. With their continued growth and onboarding new products, in line with new regulatory changes, they need a ETRM SME Business analyst to work on Project lifecycle covering business requirements analysis, functional specification of changes, testing as required and support of UAT.
Role Description
As a Power Business Analyst – You will leverage your deep knowledge of the European power market, experience with ETRMs, middle - back-office systems, processes to ensure the successful delivery of business and technology changes. Strong BA skills are also essential in this new area of the business, as well as teasing out requirements to map them out in an Azure DevOps board with enough detail for the developers to elaborate on.

As a Business Analyst with specific knowledge and experience in Power, you will perform testing to ensure successful delivery and functionality of new systems. As well as collaborating with the Program Managers and various stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and project goals. Also, you will drive continuous improvement by conducting post-implementation reviews and identifying opportunities to enhance system performance.

- 💻 Demonstrable knowledge of traded derivative products for ETD and OTC. Azure DevOps and ETRM proficiencies
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this Power Business Analyst include working exceptionally closely with the business and IT as the conduit between, making sure business processes are aligned with IT delivery. Full Business analyst lifecycle includes gathering and understanding requirements to ensure the successful delivery of business and technology changes. Eliciting business requirements from the stakeholders and also IT to ensure delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Analysing and optimising existing systems, with a specific focus on their application in European power trading and sales.
- Providing a comprehensive understanding of the power deal lifecycle, including trade capture, risk management, scheduling, invoicing, and settlements.
- Engaging with key business stakeholders to define and document business requirements, ensuring solutions align with trading strategies.
- Liaising with architecture colleagues across Sales IT and Trading IT domains.
- Participating in testing processes (unit, QA, and UAT) to ensure successful delivery and functionality of new systems.
