EUROPEAN INSURANCE MANAGER

Location: London or Birmingham, with regular travel across the European portfolio
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000, dependent on experience
Sector: Real Estate/Property Insurance
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is looking for a European Insurance Manager to manage the delivery of a cost-effective, high-quality insurance service across their European property portfolio covering both the administrative placement and maintenance of insurance cover, and the active risk management of the Group's continental European assets.

Reporting to the Director of Treasury & Risk, you will play a genuinely hands-on role in ensuring the Group's European insurance programme remains fit for purpose as the portfolio continues to grow in scale and complexity. This is a role that combines technical insurance expertise with real operational ownership across multiple European jurisdictions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Manage the placement and timely removal of insurance cover across European property acquisitions and disposals, ensuring appropriate cover is always in place.
  • Maintain accurate and complete insurance records for all European assets, including construction data, sums insured and policy schedules.
  • Analyse and verify sum insured information provided by third-party valuers, minimising the risk of insurer challenge or inadequate cover.
  • Provide insurance documentation to support bank financing exercises, including compliance certificates and lender-specific insurance reports.
  • Act as the central liaison point for insurance claims across the European portfolio, managing the claims process with local loss adjusters, legal counsel and insurer representatives.
  • Support the annual renewal of European property insurance, working with the Group's brokers to provide accurate exposure data and achieve competitive terms.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new European territories to the Group insurance programme, ensuring a smooth and compliant transition.
  • Conduct risk surveys and tenant inspections across the European portfolio alongside risk advisors, identifying and documenting material risks.
  • Advise local European management teams on risk mitigation measures and monitor agreed improvement plans through to completion.
  • Engage proactively with insurers on risk management activity to support favourable premium outcomes at renewal.
  • Act as primary point of contact for the Group's brokers and insurers on European programme matters.
  • Support local European teams who may have limited insurance experience with guidance and training materials where appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with European banking partners, providing insurance compliance evidence in line with facility terms.
  • Contribute to efficiency improvements within the Insurance Department, drawing on experience from larger or more structured insurance environments.
  • Provide cover for other members of the Insurance Team as required, including during periods of absence or high workload.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
