European Reporting Manager
Woodland Partners are delighted to be working exclusively with this high-profile global Insurance company who are looking to strengthen their Finance function with the hire of a European Reporting Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting for the European insurance entity and its UK branch, including the integrity of the general ledger and timely completion of period-end close activities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, with clear analysis and explanations of key movements, judgements, and variances
- Coordinate regulatory and statutory reporting requirements, working effectively with local advisers, auditors, and other stakeholders
- Support the establishment and ongoing development of robust financial controls, processes, and reporting for the new entity and branch
- Lead the finance input into external audit and respond to technical accounting, regulatory, and other information requests
- Provide dependable leadership, constructive challenges, and effective support across priority finance matters
- Contribute to wider group reporting and consolidation activities as required, helping to improve the quality and efficiency of reporting across the Group

Skills Required:
- Thorough understanding of insurance accounting, financial reporting, and control requirements
- Ability to work independently, resolve complex issues, and apply sound judgment while maintaining close attention to detail
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, auditors, regulators, and external advisors
- Ability to establish and improve processes and controls in a developing operating environment

Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified accountant with a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience
- Significant insurance accounting and financial reporting experience is essential
- Experience of accounting for regulated insurance entities and branches is highly desirable
- European regulatory reporting experience would be beneficial
