Job Description

What you can expect

We are recruiting for a Data Processor. Reporting to the Branch Manager. Working in a newly formed Rhenus sales office, your role will be to assist the branch manager in developing and growing the Bristol branch. Ensuring all shipments are always carried out to the highest standards and customer requirements are met.

What you bring

Main Duties:

  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the dedicated point of contact for clients, providing regular shipping updates and resolving concerns proactively.
  • Onboarding & Retention: Guide new clients smoothly through onboarding processes and maintain high service standards to drive account retention.
  • Tracking and Support: Monitor shipments in transit and update clients on delivery progress.
  • Risk Management: Arrange cargo insurance and handle claims for lost or damaged goods.
  • Documentation Management: Verify the commercial invoices and request for all import/export paperwork to be raised.
  • Rate Negotiation: Negotiate prices and book cargo space with transport carriers and in our internal systems.

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Organization: Ability to track multiple shipments and schedules at the same time.
  • Communication: Clear contact with clients, overseas partners, and carriers.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick fixes for delayed cargo, route changes, or customs holds.
  • Computer Literacy: Skill in using modern logistics and tracking software.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year's experience in European road freight.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Maths and English.
  • Additional language skills would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Teams.
