Our Belfast office is at the heart of our operations and supports customers across a wide range of freight services. Our growing Road Freight Department provides groupage and freight solutions connecting Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland with destinations throughout Europe.
As this area of the business continues to develop, we are looking for an experienced European Road Freight Operative to join our Belfast team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freight professional to bring their knowledge of European groupage and freight networks to a growing department and play an active role in its continued development.
About the Role:
TCB Group is seeking an experienced European Road Freight Operative to join our growing Road Freight Department at our Belfast office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freight professional to play an important role within a developing area of the business. The successful candidate will have a proven background in European road freight, with particular experience managing groupage movements and working with established European freight networks.

You will be responsible for coordinating road freight shipments across Europe, working closely with customers, overseas partners, hauliers and internal teams to ensure cargo is moved efficiently and customers receive a consistently high level of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing European groupage shipments from initial enquiry through to final delivery.
- Coordinating import and export groupage movements between Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and destinations throughout Europe.
- Working closely with established European freight networks, agents, hauliers and other transport partners.
- Obtaining and reviewing transport rates and preparing customer quotations.
- Booking collections and deliveries and coordinating shipment schedules.
- Monitoring shipments throughout transit and proactively managing any delays or operational issues.
- Maintaining regular communication with customers and providing shipment updates.
- Preparing and managing the relevant transport and shipping documentation.
- Liaising with internal operational, customs and commercial teams where required.
- Developing strong working relationships with existing European partners and suppliers.
- Ensuring shipment information and operational records are maintained accurately within company systems.
- Supporting the continued growth and development of TCB Group's European road freight services.
Experience & Skills
The successful candidate should have:
- Proven experience within European road freight and groupage operations.
- A strong track record of managing groupage shipments.
- A strong track record of working with European freight networks and overseas transport partners.
- A good understanding of European road freight operations, routing and transport processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to identify and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when managing rates, documentation and shipment information.
- A commercially aware approach and an understanding of the importance of service quality, pricing and operational efficiency.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider freight forwarding team.
