The organization is a recognized Open Balancing Platform (OBP) Super User, with hands-on experience in automated bulk dispatch, real-time constraint management, and integrated load flow calculations. Apex AI’s mission is to support renewable developers, battery storage operators, and interconnector providers with the technical precision needed to succeed in the UK’s clean power future.

Role Description

The EV Charging Installation & Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater London. This role is responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining EV charging stations and associated electrical infrastructure at client sites. Daily tasks include:

The technician will conduct site assessments, support system upgrades, maintain accurate service records, and collaborate with engineers and project managers to deliver installations on time and within specification. The role involves adhering to industry standards and health and safety regulations while providing clear communication to clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Strong Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair skills for EV chargers and related electrical systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Industrial Maintenance skills to diagnose faults and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Preventive Maintenance skills to plan and execute routine inspections and servicing that minimize downtime.
  • Relevant qualifications such as an NVQ or City & Guilds in Electrical Installation, Maintenance, or a similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical safety regulations, wiring standards, and safe working practices for on-site environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently and as part of a technical team.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Greater London and surrounding areas as required.
  • Experience with EV charging infrastructure or power systems is highly beneficial, as is familiarity with grid-connected assets.
