Are you an Electronics & EV Technician with strong fault-finding skills and experience working on prototype, development or other technically demanding electrical systems?
ISQ Recruitment is recruiting an EV Development Technician for an established engineering business in Norfolk. This is a practical role involving the build, test, diagnosis and development of electrical and electronic systems, with the opportunity to work closely with engineers on prototype and development projects.
About The Role
This is a varied role where you will support engineers in the assembly, testing, commissioning, fault diagnosis, and validation of EV components and drivetrain systems, helping take products from prototype through to initial production.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and build prototype electronic and electromechanical systems.
- Support the installation and testing of EV powertrain and drivetrain components.
- Conduct vehicle and bench testing activities.
- Perform electrical fault-finding and diagnostics on low and high-voltage systems.
- Assist with battery pack assembly, testing and validation.
- Carry out wiring loom manufacture, modification and repair.
- Record test data and prepare technical reports.
- Support environmental, durability and performance testing programmes.
- Work with engineers to improve prototype designs and manufacturing processes.
- Assist with product builds for low-volume and first-production manufacture.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment and test facilities.
- Ensure all work is completed safely in accordance with high-voltage procedures.

Essential Requirements
- IMI Level 4 Award, Certificate or Diploma in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement.
- HNC, Level 3/4 technical qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in electrical diagnostics and fault-finding.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience using electrical test equipment.
- Strong practical workshop skills.
- Good understanding of electrical safety procedures.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Experience
- Electric vehicle or hybrid vehicle experience.
- Automotive, motorsport or specialist vehicle background.
- CAN Bus diagnostics and data logging.
- Battery systems and battery management systems.
- High-voltage electrical systems.
- Wiring harness manufacture.
- Prototype vehicle builds.
- Soldering and electronics assembly experience.
- Understanding of low-volume manufacturing environments.
