About the Role:
EVEREC is recruiting on behalf of a growing EV charging and renewable energy business looking to appoint an experienced EV Installation & Field Operations Manager to take responsibility for its growing field engineering operation.
We're particularly interested in speaking with people who started their career in hands-on electrical installation and have since progressed into managing engineers, regional installation teams or wider field operations.
You could currently be working as an EV Installation Manager, National Installation Manager, Regional Installation Manager, Field Operations Manager, Regional Field Manager, Electrical Operations Manager or Engineering Manager within EV charging, electrical infrastructure, solar, renewables or a related field engineering environment.
The successful person will have strong technical electrical knowledge and understand installation delivery from the engineer's perspective, while now operating at a level where they can lead teams, manage performance and take ownership of safety, quality and compliance.
The business currently delivers domestic and commercial EV charging projects and is continuing to expand into larger commercial charging installations, solar and wider renewable energy solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the company's field-based electrical installation team
- Manage, support and develop electricians and installation engineers
- Take responsibility for engineer performance, productivity, quality and operational standards
- Ensure electrical installations are completed safely, compliantly and to a consistently high standard
- Oversee electrical compliance, audits, certification and quality processes
- Maintain and develop strong Health & Safety standards across field operations
- Provide technical support and guidance to engineers where required
- Support complex installations, fault finding and escalated technical issues
- Carry out and oversee site surveys, technical assessments and installation audits
- Coordinate field resources across domestic and commercial installation projects
- Support the planning and delivery of larger commercial EV charging projects
- Work closely with the Directors on operational planning, processes and continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, installation quality and customer delivery
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, training and development of new engineers
- Help establish processes and structure as the field engineering team continues to grow
- Support the company's expansion into solar and wider electrical and renewable energy projects

What We're Looking For:
We're open-minded on exact job title, but we're looking for someone who combines hands-on electrical knowledge with proven field operations or installation management experience.
You'll ideally have:
- A strong background in electrical installation
- Experience within EV charging installations or infrastructure
- Experience managing field-based electricians, engineers or installation teams
- Previous responsibility for operational performance and successful project delivery
- Strong knowledge of electrical compliance, testing, certification and auditing
- Up-to-date knowledge of BS 7671 / 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Relevant electrical qualifications
- Inspection and testing knowledge and/or qualifications
- Experience managing Health & Safety within a field engineering environment
- Experience carrying out or overseeing technical and installation audits
- Confidence supporting engineers with technical queries and escalations
- Experience with site surveys and assessing installation requirements
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Experience coaching, developing and managing the performance of engineers
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of installation costs and project delivery
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Based in South Wales or within a realistic travelling distance of Cardiff and project sites

Experience working within a NAPIT or NICEIC registered electrical contractor would be advantageous.
Experience acting as a Qualified Supervisor (QS) would also be beneficial, although this is not intended to be a purely QS/compliance-focused position.
We're particularly interested in candidates from EV charging businesses and EV installation contractors, although relevant experience within solar PV, battery storage, electrical infrastructure, smart metering or other large field-engineering operations will also be considered.
