Job Description

Job title: Housekeeping Floor Supervisor

Department: Housekeeping

Inspired & supported by: Executive Housekeeper

Salary: £41,604 (including service charge)

Your purpose will be:

To support the housekeeping leadership in all areas to ensure consistency and excellence in service standards. To drive quality through support, development and training of the guest servicing agents and HOH porters.

You will be accountable for:

  • Taking ownership for showcasing our rooms and public areas ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness
  • Ensuring the seamless running of the housekeeping department alongside the housekeeping leadership
  • Providing support and supervision for all areas and colleagues within the housekeeping and laundry team
  • Driving quality through high attention to detail and seeking every opportunity to enhance and personalise the guest experience

Your key responsibilities & contribution will be:

  • Supervising the work of guest servicing agents and HOH porters taking corrective action when needed and taking each opportunity to train and develop colleagues
  • Opening/closing of the department as per rota. Assigning daily tasks and special duties
  • Administration tasks including rotas, stationary orders, attendance records
  • Room inspections in line with our service standards and acknowledging guest preferences
  • Room audits in order to monitor colleague progress and drive performance
  • Running handover meetings
  • Ensure all relevant areas are clean, tidy and fully stocked
  • Building relationships and working closely with other teams in the hotel
  • Working alongside leadership to train and coach colleagues specifically to help drive self-checking of rooms
  • Reporting all maintenance issues/upholstery repairs through the correct channels and taking ownership to ensure complete follow up
  • Accurate recording and follow up of guest requests/special requests
  • Ensuring public area cleanliness
  • Handling guest requests, belongings and personal items with the utmost care, security and discretion.
  • To be fully knowledgeable of all hotel services and facilities to proactively assist guests
  • Other duties as specified by Housekeeping Leadership.

Qualifications

What you will need to do this role:

Essential:

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience within a luxury hospitality environment
  • The ability to prioritise and organise, meeting deadlines with quality results
  • Warm, enthusiastic and positive personality with the ability to build trusting relationships with others.
  • Able to work under pressure and at high speed.
  • Physically fit. Frequently reaching, standing and walking.
  • ‘Can do’ attitude and able to adapt to changes
  • Problem solving abilities
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written & spoken
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity
  • Hands on approach and fully flexible at work (flexible in hours and days available to work, specially evenings and weekends)

Desirable:

  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Experience in multiple areas of the housekeeping function such as the laundry service, administration and leading people
