Event Communications Manager

Location: Wembley Stadium, London (with travel across the UK & Ireland)
Contract: Fixed-term | February 2027 – Summer 2028

About UK & Ireland 2028 Limited

UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is the local organising committee responsible for delivering UEFA EURO 2028 across the UK & Ireland. We work on behalf of the five Football Associations and in partnership with governments, host cities, stadiums, and delivery partners to plan and deliver the tournament safely, inclusively, and to world-class standards.

About UEFA EURO 2028

UEFA EURO is one of the world’s largest sporting events. In 2028, it will be hosted across multiple cities in the UK & Ireland, requiring large-scale coordination across transport, infrastructure, stadiums, and public services. UEFA owns the tournament and sets requirements; UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is responsible for delivering it locally.

The Role

Working with key operational stakeholders across venues and host cities, the EURO Event Communications Manager will drive the delivery of matchday, mobility, and fan festival information to spectators via the UEFA EURO 2028 app and UEFA.com. Additionally, they will guarantee the right workflows are in place to ensure messaging across all spectator-facing channels is streamlined.

They will also be responsible for leading and training a specialised communications team across the 8 host cities, as well as building relationships with key external communications stakeholders to deliver a seamless tournament communications programme.

What you’ll be doing

Strategy

  • Support the development of the UEFA EURO 2028 Event Communications Strategy, maximising the reach and impact of all tournament communications channels.

Communications delivery

  • Lead on the development, collation, and delivery of operational content for spectators and other client groups for the UEFA EURO 2028 app, UEFA.com, emails, and other channels as required.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to create accurate and consistent stadium, mobility, and fan festival communications.
  • Deliver dynamic spectator communications during the tournament, working onsite with key operational stakeholders.
  • Support the promotion of the event communications programme, working with designers and agencies to produce briefings for creative assets such as imagery, photography, and videos.

Content management

  • Be responsible for the CMS of the UEFA EURO 2028 app and UEFA.com.
  • Assist in testing, monitoring, and reviewing the digital product delivery, ensuring all functionality is in place to support the requirements of the event communications programme.

Stakeholder management

  • Work with all key event stakeholders – Host City, Transport, Stadium, Fan Festival, and National Associations – to put the structure and workflows in place to streamline operational messaging to spectators.

Project management

  • Lead and train a team of event communication managers across the 8 host cities, providing them with the right tools, plans, and know-how to deliver localised event communications.
  • Attend table-top exercises and support readiness training for the event communications team.

What we’re looking for

Essential experience and skills:

  • Multi-channel communications experience in the sports or events industry.
  • Copywriting and/or content editing experience, ideally with an operational focus.
  • Digital content management experience.
  • Experience in major event operations.
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Good knowledge of mobile apps and websites, industry standards, and best practices of digital content production & planning.

Location & Working Pattern

  • Based at Wembley Stadium, with travel across the UK & Ireland as required.
