Role Description
We are looking for a temporary/freelance Event Construction Crew team member. Crew members are responsible for the physical set-up and breakdown of temporary event structures, including frames, flooring, staging, and other infrastructure, following detailed plans and safety guidelines. The role involves working closely with supervisors and colleagues to meet project timelines, responding to on-site needs, and supporting deliveries and collections. Team members are expected to uphold high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism while representing Chord Event at client sites.
The Person
- Proactive with a positive, can-do attitude
- Proven reliability, punctuality, and ability to work as part of a team under time pressure
- Flexible schedule, with readiness to work early mornings, evenings, and some weekends as required by project timelines
- Comfortable in using hand and power tools, and willingness to follow all health and safety procedures
- Detail-focused and takes pride in a job well done
- A strong team player with good communication skills
- Willing to travel and stay away from home when required
- In possession of a full, clean driving licence
- Experienced in events or construction (desirable but not essential)
- MEWP, Forklift or NPORS qualifications are beneficial but not essential; on-the-job training can be provided
- Keen to learn and develop new skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
