Role Description
The Event Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based at The Light venue in Redhill. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering a variety of events, including private bookings, corporate functions, and community activities. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating event logistics, managing bookings and inquiries, preparing schedules, and liaising with internal teams such as operations, food and beverage, and marketing. The Event Coordinator will support event setup and breakdown, ensure high standards of customer service, and respond to guest needs throughout events. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, promoting event offerings, and working closely with venue leadership to maximize event revenue while upholding The Light’s brand standards.

Qualifications

- Strong event planning and event management skills, with experience coordinating multiple events or projects.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication with guests, partners, and colleagues.
- Proven customer service skills, with a focus on creating positive guest experiences and handling feedback professionally.
- Basic sales skills, including promoting event packages, upselling services, and supporting revenue goals.
- Ability to work on-site in Redhill, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced entertainment or hospitality environment; prior experience in venues, cinemas, or leisure facilities is beneficial.
- Proficiency with standard office software and booking or event management systems; willingness to learn new tools.
- Collaborative working style, with the ability to build effective relationships across operations, food and beverage, and marketing teams.
- Relevant experience in event coordination, hospitality, or a related field; formal qualifications in events, hospitality, or business are an advantage but not essential.
