About The Event

Montgomery Group is seeking an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Event Director to lead two exciting new event launches. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of two products from the ground up, building engaged communities, establishing market-leading brands, and delivering sustainable commercial growth.

Position Overview

You will have full strategic, commercial, and operational responsibility for two new event launches, including P&L performance, product development, commercial strategy, and event delivery. Working in a highly entrepreneurial environment, you will shape and execute the long-term vision for each event, building market-leading products that continually evolve in response to customer insight, industry trends and changing market needs.

Leading a multidisciplinary team spanning sales, marketing, conference, delegate acquisition, and operations, you will create a high-performance culture built on collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

You will develop strategic stakeholder relationships. Working closely with joint venture partners, association partners, and other key industry stakeholders. Acting as the senior ambassador for the portfolio, you will ensure the events remain relevant, commercially successful, and valued by their communities.

You will also retain ownership of selected strategic commercial accounts and high-value partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Event Strategy, Planning & Delivery

  • Own the strategy, commercial performance, and growth of two new event launches.
  • Own P&L management, budgeting, forecasting.
  • Oversee floor plan strategy and management, ensuring the exhibition layout supports both commercial success and visitor experience.
  • Develop commercial and product strategies to drive sustainable revenue growth whilst building engaged year-round communities.
  • Use customer insight, exhibitor feedback, market trends, and competitor activity to maximize relevance, value, and commercial opportunity.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of both events, ensuring a high standard, on time, and within budget.

Commercial, Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team across sales, marketing, conference, delegate acquisition, and operations, creating a collaborative, accountable culture.
  • Personally manage a portfolio of strategic commercial accounts, leading negotiations on high-value exhibition, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with joint venture partners, association partners, and other strategic stakeholders, ensuring alignment on product vision, commercial objectives, and long-term growth.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for strategic partners, supporting effective governance.
  • Champion innovation and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead the effective use of CRM systems, commercial reporting, and AI-driven tools to improve forecasting, customer engagement, decision making, and team performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
