Role Overview
The Event Director is a senior event management and leadership role within LEE, responsible for leading complex, high-profile live experiences and event programmes from initial brief through to delivery. The role combines strategic event leadership, senior client and stakeholder management, commercial oversight and team leadership. The Event Director ensures that the event experience delivers against client objectives while working closely with Client Leadership, Producers, Senior Producers and Technical Production to ensure the wider project is successfully delivered. The Event Director is not a replacement for Client Leadership or the overall project/production lead. They provide senior event and experience leadership where the scale, complexity or strategic importance of a project requires it.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

- Translate client objectives and strategic requirements into compelling, achievable event experiences.

- Establish clear event objectives, experience principles, priorities and success measures.
- Challenge and develop event solutions to improve quality, impact, efficiency and scalability.
- Provide senior oversight across multiple event workstreams, ensuring the experience remains coherent from concept through to delivery.
- Contribute to the continued development and strategic growth of the LEE Event Management capability.
Event Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end event experience across complex projects and programmes.
- Oversee event planning, logistics, guest experience, stakeholder requirements, schedules and onsite delivery.
- Ensure the event is delivered to the required creative, operational and experiential standard.
- Work closely with Producers and Technical Production to ensure event requirements are fully integrated into the wider production approach.
- Provide senior onsite leadership, acting as a key decision-maker and escalation point.
- Anticipate and manage complex risks, dependencies and challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead post-event evaluation, ensuring learnings are captured and translated into future improvements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
