Event Director / Commercial Event Lead

Our client is a fast-growing, award-winning events and media business with an entrepreneurial culture and ambitious growth plans. They are seeking an experienced Event Director or Senior Event Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of B2B exhibitions and sponsorship opportunities, driving commercial success while leading an established sales function. This is a highly commercial leadership role, combining event ownership with responsibility for key account management, sponsorship sales, business growth, and team leadership. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, increasing revenue, and delivering exceptional experiences for exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commercial growth strategies and sales plans.
- Lead sponsorship, exhibition, and partnership sales activity.
- Manage and grow key client relationships.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and revenue performance.
- Develop compelling value propositions and sales tools.
- Lead, mentor, and support an international sales team.
- Work closely with marketing, content, and operations teams to maximize event success.
- Attend industry events and exhibitions to promote the portfolio and generate new business.
- Drive continuous improvement across sales processes, customer experience, and commercial performance.

About You
With at least 5 years of experience, you will be a commercially minded event professional with experience in exhibitions or events at a manager or director level. You will bring strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to win and grow major accounts. This role requires international travel.
