About the Venue:
The Addison is one of the flagship premium hospitality destinations within the £1bn Olympia London regeneration project, a landmark development transforming one of London’s most iconic event and entertainment districts. About the Role:
The Event Duty Manager is responsible for the full day-to-day operation of the Heritage Halls at Olympia. We are seeking strong candidates with significant events experience, great communication skills and a track record of managing professional relationships. Working alongside Event Management and Venue Service teams, the successful candidate will be fully accountable to ensure exhibitions in the Grand Hall, the National Hall and the West Hall run smoothly. The role will be the link from the clients to the internal and external contractors working in the Halls. You will bring together representatives from traffic, security, safety, catering cleaning and waste to deliver the Olympia experience to our event clients maintaining Olympia’s position as a world leading Events space. Outside of office hours, the Event Duty Manager will be the most senior on-site representative of Olympia Events and will therefore represent our interests with the wider estate.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead on-site event operations, working closely with Event Management to ensure safe, seamless, and successful event delivery.
- Manage and coordinate operational teams, including security, traffic, cleaning, fire safety, and first aid, to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Act as the senior operational representative on site, taking ownership of incidents, venue issues, and stakeholder communication during events.
- Monitor venue standards and event finances, overseeing maintenance reporting, post-event charges, and compliance with operational procedures.
- Champion safety, compliance, and sustainability, ensuring events are delivered in line with company policies and sustainability objectives.

We're looking for someone with:
- Event management experience or relevant qualification, with a strong understanding of event operations and organiser requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to communicate effectively with organisers, venue teams, contractors, and senior event personnel.
- Able to perform under pressure, successfully managing multiple concurrent events, builds, and breakdowns in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of health & safety, with knowledge of event-related compliance requirements (NEBOSH desirable).
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong administrative, IT, time management, and planning skills.
Sustainability Responsibilities:
- Continuously improve your knowledge of Olympia Events’ sustainability programme - the ‘Grand Plan’. Complete all training provided and promote sustainability practices to meet our Grand Plan objectives.
- Follow and promote all sustainable workplace policies and procedures and seek ways to make your department more sustainable by taking an active role to initiate change.
