Working Conditions:

  • This is a 3-year fixed term position
  • This role is based at our facility in 28 Hanbury St, London E1 6QR
  • You will be required to spend a considerable amount of time away supporting global events. 70% international travel.
  • You must have the ability to work unsociable and extended hours as required to cover sporting events.

Global Sports Broadcasts | 70% International Travel

The Opportunity

We're looking for an Event Engineer to support the delivery of world-class live sports broadcasting and transmission services across major sporting events globally.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring extensive travel, practical technical expertise, and a strong understanding of broadcast technology.

You will be responsible for:

  • Deploying, testing, and supporting transmission and connectivity solutions on-site at live sporting events
  • Ensuring high-quality broadcast delivery for rights holders and broadcasters worldwide

The role requires approximately 70% travel throughout the year, often supporting large-scale international broadcasts in demanding environments.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deploy and support broadcast transmission infrastructure at live sporting events
  • Install, configure, and test fibre, network, and video transmission equipment
  • Rack and commission technical equipment both in-house and on-site
  • Build, test, and repair engineering cabling where required
  • Configure and support video encoding and decoding solutions
  • Troubleshoot broadcast, transmission, and connectivity issues under live event conditions
  • Work closely with customers, broadcasters, and production teams
  • Support IP-based video contribution and distribution workflows
  • Prepare and test equipment prior to deployment

Essential Experience

Must Have:

  • Live broadcast engineering experience
  • Broadcast transmission experience
  • Fibre connectivity experience
  • Knowledge of video encoding and decoding
  • Understanding of IP networking fundamentals
  • Practical engineering experience including rack builds, cabling, and equipment installation
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Customer-facing experience
  • Ability to travel internationally for approximately 70% of the year
