Create unforgettable events with one of the world’s most recognised hotel brands.

Are you an experienced hotel events professional who knows how to turn an enquiry into a confirmed booking — and a successful event into a returning client?

The Glasgow Marriott Hotel is looking for a Meeting & Events Executive to join our team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you’ll manage events from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up, combining exceptional customer service with a strong commercial focus.

Previous experience in a similar Hotel M&E Sales role is essential.

The Opportunity

You’ll be a key part of our Meetings & Events team, taking ownership of event and group booking enquiries and working closely with clients and operational teams to bring each event to life.

  • From conducting an engaging site visit and creating the perfect event proposal, to coordinating menus, room layouts and AV requirements, you’ll make sure every detail is right.
  • You’ll also identify opportunities to upsell, maximise space and revenue, and build relationships that turn first-time clients into repeat business.

No two events are the same, so you’ll need to be organised, commercially aware and confident managing multiple priorities while maintaining the high standards expected from Marriott.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and convert group and event enquiries from initial contact through to post-event follow-up
  • Build strong relationships with new and returning clients, understanding their needs and exceeding expectations
  • Conduct professional and engaging site visits and show rounds to maximise conversion
  • Coordinate menus, room layouts/decor, AV requirements, timings and service standards
  • Maintain accurate bookings and client information using hotel systems
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure events are delivered seamlessly
  • Maximise revenue through effective upselling, cross-selling and intelligent space management
  • Lead pre-event briefings and post-event reviews, resolving any issues quickly and professionally
  • Ensure all activity reflects Marriott’s global brand standards

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
