Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Event Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of a fast-paced, high-profile motorsport operation. Based in Appleton and travelling across the UK and Europe in line with the Formula 1 calendar, you will coordinate vehicle movements, manage event crews and oversee the safe, precise build and breakdown of customer motorhomes, race bases, trailers and PODs.

You will be the main point of contact on site, ensuring every event is delivered safely, legally, on schedule and to an exceptional standard. You will also manage budgets, resources, travel arrangements, customer updates and continuous improvement activity, while leading the team by example in demanding, high-pressure environments.

  • Plan UK and European vehicle movements around the Formula 1 season, ensuring compliance with cross-border, drivers’ hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph requirements.
  • Lead the transport, setup, technical build, maintenance and breakdown of event hardware.
  • Manage and motivate Team Leaders, drivers, riggers and event crew to deliver against customer schedules.
  • Monitor build progress, quality, equipment condition and presentation to Formula 1 standards.
  • Manage budgets, purchase orders, resources and team travel arrangements.
  • Maintain accurate event reports and provide regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee health and safety, accident investigations, vehicle documentation, servicing and MOT schedules.
  • Identify trends, resolve operational issues and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within a motorsport or Formula 1 environment
  • Strong knowledge of EU drivers’ hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph legislation.
  • Experience leading and motivating teams in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving ability.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a clear commitment to quality and safety.
  • Confidence managing competing priorities, tight deadlines and operational change.
  • IT literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; experience of GTS, MWF or Microlise would be advantageous.
  • Flexibility to travel internationally and work varying hours across race weekends.
  • A strong work ethic and genuine passion for motorsport.
