R&D Partners is seeking an experienced Event Manager to join a dynamic team in the UK. This role involves working closely with the Events Team Leader and a group of event professionals to deliver a variety of internal and external events that align with the company's short-term strategy, business objectives, and marketing plan.

You will be responsible for organizing and executing events such as large multi-day conferences, gala dinners, third-party exhibitions, and small-scale national and international customer visits.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

Event Planning:

  • Respond to and project manage internal and external event requests.
  • Source and contract venues.
  • Manage content and speakers.
  • Track event budgets, raise POs, and manage payments.
  • Oversee on-site event and delegate management.
  • Book accommodation and travel arrangements.
  • Conduct event operations, including risk assessments and health & safety monitoring.
  • Monitor registrations and formulate attendee lists.

Team Support:

  • Assist the Team Leader with team engagement and regular check-ins.
  • Facilitate training and onboarding for new and existing team members.

Strategy and Business Plans:

  • Support the delivery of marketing and business plans.
  • Suggest corrective actions throughout the year and contribute to future planning processes.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Essential:

  • Proven experience managing virtual, hybrid, and face-to-face events.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Expertise in budget management, communication, and organization.
  • Problem-solving abilities and adaptability under pressure.
  • Understanding of the role of events within a commercial organization.

Desirable:

  • Experience using event-related platforms such as Cvent and Salesforce.
  • Degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business, or equivalent.
  • Line management experience.
  • Familiarity with customer experience journeys and journey mapping.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic or healthcare industries.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver exceptional events and experiences for customers as part of the marketing strategy.
  • Supervise budgeting, scheduling, deliverables, vendor coordination, invoicing, contractual matters, logistics, and event reporting.
  • Champion the use of tools and processes, including CRM systems, marketing content approval platforms, and training systems.
  • Manage event budgets in alignment with the business plan.
