Event Manager - LEX Liverpool Experience Campus, Liverpool | Full-Time / Permanent
£29000 + excellent benefits including healthcare, wellbeing support, 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance, meals on duty, and more.
Overall Purpose of the Role
The Event Manager at Levy UK&I is responsible for facilitating day-to-day operations on client events, ensuring we are meeting expectations in line with our Signature service standards.
As an Event Manager, you will support the Senior Event Manager and Head of Convention Events in planning, coordinating, and delivering a diverse calendar of high-profile events. You will lead and motivate a large and varied team, including Floor Managers, Supervisors, and Casual Team Members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of all exhibitions, banquets, internals, corporate events, and hospitality functions, ensuring consistent implementation of standards and excellence in service delivery.
- Own your allocated events from concept to completion, ensuring flawless delivery.
- Work closely with the Head of Convention, Senior Event Manager, and Account Management team to ensure all operational requirements are met.
- Monitor service delivery throughout events and respond proactively to operational challenges.
- Conduct operational briefings and debriefs with teams before and after events with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Maximise profitability through team management and deployment, upselling at all opportunities, and ensuring management of stock control.
- Be knowledgeable of all venue products and able to advise in a professional manner.
- Maintain H&S compliance and lead a health & safety culture.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify training needs and carry out on-the-job training.
- Assist with the financial management of all event labor scheduling and work closely with the Staffing team to effectively manage labor spends and forecasting.
- Ensure that positive and healthy relationships exist with the client and guests before, during, and post-event.
- Support the Head of Convention in the achievement of sales revenue and targets for the department.
- Drive sales and offer in your area of responsibility.
- Develop and apply strong financial awareness to proactively identify and support the reduction of wastage, mitigate the risk of theft, and protect overall departmental profitability.
- Support effective deployment to maximise labor and operational efficiency and in line with business requirements and budgets.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and enhance guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all company, venue, and statutory health and safety requirements.
- Ensure food safety, allergen management, and licensing requirements are consistently met.
- Conduct operational checks and ensure safe working practices are always followed.

Essential Skills
- Previous experience in a similar role within the catering or food service industry.
- Experience managing a team, supervisors, and team leaders.
- Experience in operating large-scale bespoke events.
- Strong knowledge of food allergens, dietary restrictions, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Essential) and Event Management Systems (Preferred).
- Very detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Problem-solving skills to address issues effectively.
- Experience working with clients and stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail. Focused on the accuracy and quality of work through to completion.

Hours of Work
Hours will be determined by the needs of the business and in accordance with the Working Time Regulations. Due to the nature of the events industry, flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays will be required.
