Overview

Our client is a national public-sector heritage organisation seeking an experienced Event Manager to lead the planning and delivery of a major staff conference programme in 2027.

The conference will comprise three in-person events across three locations, with approximately 170 to 280 attendees at each event. The role will take responsibility for end-to-end event planning and delivery, ensuring each event runs smoothly, meets agreed timelines and budgets, and provides a high-quality experience for attendees.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong organisational skills, confident stakeholder management and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of three in-person staff conference events.
  • Coordinate all key event logistics, including venue, scheduling, attendee requirements and audiovisual provision.
  • Manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to coordinate event activity and ensure effective delivery.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and communicate clearly throughout the planning process.
  • Oversee live event delivery and respond quickly to operational issues as they arise.
  • Troubleshoot problems calmly and effectively during events.
  • Maintain clear oversight of event plans, priorities, deadlines and dependencies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
