About Waye

Waye is a fractional marketing agency working exclusively with ecommerce agencies and SaaS companies. We run research-led campaigns, hosted events, content strategy and AI/automation consulting for our clients, and act as fractional marketing manager for several of them. The team is a fully remote and flexible team based across the UK.

Events are central to how we and our clients win business. We deliver events for clients, running everything in the background without putting our logo on anything, and are now launching our own quarterly research-and-event series for the people running ecommerce at UK brands.

This role exists to launch that series and take ownership of our clients' events.

The role

You'll launch and run Waye's quarterly series for brand-side ecommerce leaders, with the first event inside 90 days of joining, and own delivery of the rest of our client calendar: events for clients across the UK and Europe, with US events as they arise. Expect 6 - 12 events a year.

The series is sponsored by ecommerce agencies and SaaS platforms, one per category, who pay for access to a qualified room of brand-side buyers. You'll sell those sponsorships alongside the founder, recruit the merchants who fill the room, and turn every event into a quarter's worth of content with the marketing team.

This is an Events Manager role reporting directly to the founder. You won't hold a P&L; client budgets are agreed with each client and series budgets with the founder, and you manage delivery against them. You'll be our only dedicated events person, coordinating the wider marketing team rather than line-managing anyone.

The details

  • Level: Events Manager
  • Reports to: Founder
  • Direct reports: none (coordinates the marketing team)
  • Contract: full-time, permanent
  • Location: remote, UK-based
  • Travel: UK and Europe regularly; US optional

Launch and run the series

  • Deliver the first event within 90 days of joining, then one a quarter: a research reveal, operator panels, sponsor-hosted roundtables, and nobody selling from the stage
  • Run the live benchmark and research poll with the marketing team so every event produces a report
  • Secure a host brand each quarter for speaking slots etc.
  • Own the run of show and the day itself, from set-up to breakdown

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Sell and serve sponsors

  • Build and work a pipeline of agencies and SaaS platforms, one sponsor per category per event, closing standard-rate deals yourself and supporting the founder on the larger ones
  • Work to a soft season sponsorship target (£60k in year one)
  • Deliver everything a sponsor is promised: roundtable, 1:1 meetings, podcast episode, data cut and opt-in leads
  • Run each sponsor debrief so it ends with a season renewal and a conversation about their own event with Waye

Fill the room

  • Recruit 60 brand-side ecommerce decision-makers per event through sponsor invitations, the research poll, personal outbound and paid promotion
  • Run approval-based registration
  • Source and brief operator speakers and host brands

Client and partner events

  • Turn a client brief into an event plan: format, audience, run of show, timeline and budget
  • Source and contract venues, AV, catering and production suppliers in the UK and Europe
  • Act as the day-to-day client contact from kick-off to debrief, and keep quotes, costs and invoices organised so nothing surprises anyone

Content and team

  • Coordinate the marketing team on the landing page, poll, promotion, on-the-day capture and the post-event content run
  • Keep a shared events calendar and playbook, and report monthly to the founder on pipeline, budgets and sponsorship

Must-haves

  • 3+ years delivering B2B events end to end, ideally in an agency, SaaS or professional-services setting
  • A track record of running events on the day, not just planning them, at anything from 30-person dinners to 200+ summits
  • Experience selling or account-managing sponsors or partners, and following through on what was promised
  • Comfortable with outbound: you'll build lists and send personal invitations to sponsors, merchants and speakers every week
  • Experience managing budgets you didn't set, and reporting spend clearly
  • Confidence sourcing and negotiating with venues and suppliers, including outside the UK
  • Calm, organised and direct under pressure; you'd rather flag a problem early than fix it quietly late
  • Able to travel regularly across the UK and Europe, with occasional US trips

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the ecommerce ecosystem: brands, agencies and the platform partner world
  • Experience running events in non-venue spaces such as warehouses, studios or stores, and the safety and insurance that go with them
  • Speaker programming, research or content curation experience
  • Familiarity with event tech (registration, CRM or email tools) and podcast or video capture
  • A second European language

Working arrangement and travel

Full-time and permanent, working remotely from anywhere in the UK. Expect to be in Harrogate or London for team days and planning, and on site for every event you run.

Travel is a real part of the job: regular UK trips, several European trips a year, and US events as the programme grows. Events mean some evenings and occasional weekends; we balance that with time back afterwards.

What good looks like in year one

  • The series launched within 90 days of joining and four events delivered, each on time and within budget
  • Five category-exclusive sponsors per event and £60k of season sponsorship, with at least three sponsors renewing for year two
  • 60 brand-side attendees per event, 80% or more from brands, with a host brand secured for every Field Trip
  • Every event producing its report, podcast episodes and content run within two weeks
  • At least one sponsor converted into their own Waye-delivered event
  • A written events playbook and shared calendar the whole team works from

What you get

  • £36,000 to £39,000 depending on experience, plus OTE bonus
  • Fully remote, permanent PAYE role. Work from wherever suits you in the UK
  • Direct exposure to campaign strategy, not just execution
  • A small team where your work is visible and your ideas get used
  • Clients who are genuinely good at what they do, in a sector that's interesting to work in
  • Modern tooling and a team that automates the boring stuff
