Marketing & Sales - Event Manager
Contract: 6 months (Possible extension)
Work Location: London – hybrid – 3 days onsite
Top 3 Skills:
- Execution-Focused/Hands-On Experience: Candidates must be willing and able to "hit the ground running." The role is operational, not strategic, so they need to be comfortable with the day-to-day "heavy lifting" of event execution, such as directing contractors on-site and managing event logistics.
- Strong Proactive Communication & Collaboration (XFN): Because the team is "people-facing" and works closely with many internal partners, the candidate must be a proactive, effective communicator who can thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Attention to Detail (specifically in Budget/Procurement): Candidates need high attention to detail, particularly regarding the administrative side of the role, such as submitting invoices promptly and navigating the company's procurement processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Preferred backgrounds and industries include:
- Event production companies: Candidates who have worked on the vendor side and served large corporate clients.
- Hospitality industry: Specifically, hotels that operate large conferencing and event business lines.
- Events venues: Professionals who have experience working within facilities dedicated to hosting events.
The team noted that while candidates from large tech companies (like Google, Apple, or Microsoft) are relevant, the candidate's budget experience might be different, as Meta's event budgets may be smaller than some of those organizations, but significantly larger than what someone from a boutique or smaller hospitality background might be used to.
