We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Event Operations Assistant Manager to join our Food & Beverage team at Fairmont St Andrews.
From intimate private dinners and corporate conferences to spectacular celebrations and large-scale events, no two days are quite the same. Working alongside our Event Operations Manager, you will play a key role in bringing each event to life, ensuring everything is beautifully prepared, professionally delivered, and exceeds our guests' expectations.

What You'll Be Doing
- Support the Event Operations Manager with the day-to-day running of conferences, banquets, private dining, and events across the resort.
- Take an active leadership role during events, ensuring service is delivered smoothly, professionally, and to Fairmont standards.
- Lead, motivate, and support the Event Operations team, helping to create a positive and engaging working environment.
- Ensure event spaces are set up accurately and on time in accordance with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and individual client requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients and guests during events, responding quickly to requests and ensuring expectations are met and exceeded.
- Work closely with our Events Planning, Culinary, Food & Beverage, and Technical Services teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Coordinate the set-up, service, and clear-down of conferences, banquets, and private dining events.
- Ensure china, glassware, equipment, and other operational supplies are available, clean, and maintained to the required standard.
- Assist with stock control, monthly inventories, and the ordering of operational equipment and supplies.
- Support the management of payroll and departmental costs, helping the team operate efficiently and in line with budget.
- Ensure all areas are maintained to the highest standards of presentation, cleanliness, health, and safety.
- Support the training and development of colleagues, ensuring the team has the knowledge and confidence to deliver outstanding service.

Qualifications
Who we're looking for
You will be a confident and hands-on hospitality professional who enjoys being at the heart of the action. You'll have a natural ability to organise, communicate, and lead a team while remaining calm and solutions-focused in a busy events environment.
Ideally, You'll Have
- Previous experience within Events, Banqueting, or Food & Beverage operations.
- Supervisory or team-leading experience within hospitality.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The confidence to lead a team and make decisions during busy events.
- The ability to work collaboratively across different departments.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, in line with our events calendar.
