Event Sales & Business Development Manager

Location: The Light Bar & the Electric Star Pubs portfolio
Department: Management
Reporting To: Head of Sales
Salary: Competitive Base + Bonus Structure based on KPI's

THE VENUES

The Light Bar—Shoreditch’s iconic, three-floor, 1890s former power station—you’ll be driving event sales for one of East London’s most magnificent architectural spaces. Beyond this flagship site, you’ll also unlock revenue across the wider Electric Star Pubs portfolio, a vibrant collection of beloved, character-filled venues boasting private karaoke rooms, expansive function spaces, and sun-soaked terraces.

THE ROLE

As our Event Sales & Business Development Manager, you’ll be the key force behind our commercial expansion. You’ll actively seek out high-value corporate partners, connect with event planners, and convert creative ideas into profitable, unforgettable experiences across our multi-site portfolio.

  • Drive New Business: Take a proactive approach to building your B2B network, utilising LinkedIn, local outreach, and industry connections to secure new corporate accounts and private bookers.
  • Consultative Sales & Conversion: Lead the end-to-end sales journey for high-value enquiries—delivering rapid, bespoke proposals, hosting immersive site visits, and creative upselling.
  • Portfolio Cross-Selling: Deeply understand the capacities and layout of each venue to make full use of our spaces. If The Light Bar is fully booked, you’ll seamlessly guide clients toward an ideal space within the Electric Star Pubs family.
  • Commercial Strategy & Packages: Structure pre-booked packages, room hires, and minimum spends that deliver exceptional value for clients while ensuring great revenue for our venues.
  • Seamless Delivery: Collaborate closely with General Managers, operational teams, and marketing to ensure flawless event handovers, stepping on-site during key high-profile events to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
