Event Sales Executive – MA Exhibitions

Hybrid: Herne Hill, 3 days in the office

Salary: £27,000 to £30,000, depending on experience and company benefits.

Commission: circa £10,000 OTE, with uncapped commission

Contract: Permanent, full-time

As Event Sales Executive, you will play a key role in driving commercial growth across our events portfolio, selling stand space and sponsorship opportunities across the HR, Technology and Healthcare sectors.

This is a role for someone who wants ownership, exposure and the chance to keep developing. You will be trusted to make things happen, encouraged to contribute ideas, and supported to build your skills in a specialist media business with genuine career pathways. Our size and range of brands mean you can build specialist knowledge, work with experienced colleagues and develop your career across different markets, products and teams.

What you’ll be doing

  • Sell stand space and sponsorship packages across a portfolio of specialist events.
  • Research prospective clients, identify commercial opportunities and develop new business.
  • Build strong relationships with new and existing clients, understanding their objectives and presenting relevant event solutions.
  • Manage your sales activity and pipeline against clear revenue targets and deadlines.
  • Work closely with colleagues across sales, marketing, editorial and events to develop campaigns and commercial opportunities.
  • Use client feedback and sales insight to strengthen propositions and improve results.
  • Contribute ideas that help grow revenue, improve the client experience and support successful events.

Must-haves:

  • A genuine interest in building a successful career in sales, with confidence speaking to people on the phone and in person.

  • A collaborative approach, with the confidence to contribute ideas and support colleagues.

  • Exposure to events through work, university, volunteering or other relevant experience.
  • Experience of customer outreach, prospecting or working in a commercial environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems or managing a sales pipeline.
  • An interest in the HR, Technology or Healthcare sectors.
