Reporting to the Events Manager, the Event Specialist is the hands-on delivery expert within the group events team. Where the Events Manager owns the Group Events Plan, the Event Specialist turns that plan into reality: managing the end-to-end delivery of a wide range of internal and external events, supporting our Internal Comms, Brand and Commercial Unit marketing teams with their vertically focused events, and ensuring every event carries the brand consistently and delivers measurable pipeline growth for the business.

Our event programme covers internal events, brand level events and sector events and range from large 600+ people conferences, trade shows, through to smaller seminars, roundtables and virtual events.

The role holder will be an experienced B2B events professional, comfortable owning complex events from brief to post-event reporting with a high degree of autonomy, and confident deputising for the Events Manager when required.

What You Will Do

  • You’ll be the person who makes things happen. Working closely with the events manager you will deliver group events to an exceptional standard, on time and on budget, so that each event strengthens the brand in our core sectors, creates a strong connection between our audiences and our solutions, and generates the qualified sales opportunities the events plan commits to.
  • Own and deliver group-level events from conception to execution, including venue and supplier selection, logistics, delegate management, on-site delivery and post-event follow-up.
  • Own the delivery workstream for the largest flagship events, coordinating internal contributors (creative, content, PR and media, digital) and external suppliers against agreed timelines.
  • Act as the first point of contact for internal, brand and commercial unit marketing teams delivering their smaller events: providing advice, guidance and hands-on support, and ensuring those events meet group brand guidelines.
  • Make sure the technology and production behind our events works seamlessly – from demo systems and registration technology to AV, presentations and media.
  • Maintain and develop the event toolkit of resources, templates and playbooks that business unit teams use to run smaller events on brand and to a consistent standard.
  • Manage delegated event budgets, tracking spend, negotiating with suppliers and reporting variances to the Events Manager.
  • Set up and manage lead capture at every event, ensuring qualified opportunities are recorded accurately, passed to sales promptly and tracked through to conversion.
  • Produce clear status reports on event progress, and post-event analysis covering attendance, lead volume, conversion and cost per opportunity, with recommendations for improvement.
  • Contribute new and fresh thinking in brainstorms for both group-run and business unit-run events.
  • Build effective relationships across the business, with third-party suppliers and with venue and production partners.
  • Support and help develop less experienced members of the events team, sharing best practice and reviewing their delivery plans.
  • Deputise for the Events Manager as required.
  • Be responsible for the end to end set up, production and delivery of webinars, working closely with internal stakeholders and speakers to ensure engaging, seamless and professional virtual experiences.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of third-party suppliers on allocated events, escalating commercial decisions to the Events Manager.
  • Contributes to the development of the Group Events Plan, bringing delivery insight, cost intelligence and supplier knowledge to the planning process.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
