Carlisle Support Services is recruiting Event Stewards to work at Cheltenham Racecourse, the legendary home of Jump Racing, for the remainder of the 2026/2027 season.

The Venue – Where Legends Are Made

Cheltenham Racecourse is truly like no other. From electric race days to world-class hospitality, you’ll be right at the heart of unforgettable moments.

A Major Highlight Of The Season Includes The World-famous

Cheltenham Festival – March 16th, 17th, 18th & 19th

With close to 1 million visitors across the season, every event brings energy, excitement, and something new.

2026/2027 Season Dates

You’ll need to commit to working at least 50% of these dates:

  • October 23rd & 24th
  • November 13th, 14th & 15th
  • December 11th & 12th
  • January 1st
  • January 30th
  • March (Festival) 16th, 17th, 18th & 19th
  • April 14th & 15th
  • April 30th

✨ Plus opportunities to work conferences and events at the racecourse and support other Carlisle contracts throughout the year.

The Role – Event Steward

You’ll be representing Carlisle Support Services, the trusted supplier of event stewards and security at Cheltenham Racecourse.

Your role is all about people, safety, and delivering great experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing a friendly and professional welcome to visitors
  • Delivering world-class customer service
  • Supporting safety procedures and evacuation processes
  • Giving clear directions around the venue (toilets, bars, medical rooms, etc.)
  • Monitoring crowd safety and reporting incidents
  • Supporting access control, wayfinding, and ticket queries
  • Following supervisor briefs to keep events running smoothly

No Experience? No Problem!

Full training is provided. We’re looking for people who are:

  • Approachable with a passion for customer service
  • Willing to learn new skills and procedures
  • Reliable, punctual, and presentable
  • Able to take direction and follow instructions
  • Confident communicating in spoken and written English

Screening & Induction

Successful candidates must attend a pre-start induction and provide original documentation for screening and vetting (e.g. passport, driving licence, utility bill, HMRC letter, bank statement, payslip, birth certificate, or valid share code).
