Job Summary
Join our innovative team at Advanced Systems Group, where your technical expertise brings live, virtual, and hybrid events to life in the heart of London. As an Event Technician, you’ll play a pivotal role in the planning, coordination, and seamless execution of world-class events across our vibrant event campus.
About the Role
Working closely with customers, internal partners, and fellow technical specialists, you’ll support a wide range of events, ensuring every detail meets high standards of quality and professionalism. From technical set-up and broadcasting to customer engagement, your skills help shape memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate virtual event platforms using technical run-of-show requirements
- Demonstrate proficiency in Keynote, Google Slides, and PowerPoint
- Perform live video source switching between pre-recorded material and live presenters
- Operate PTZ cameras and manage remote presenter endpoints
- Mix live audio and manage signal routing using Crestron and hardware audio mixers
- Troubleshoot audio, video, and streaming issues to ensure smooth event delivery
- Set up redundancy and backup systems as per contingency protocols
- Review and prepare creative assets for quality before the event
- Configure and manage presentation assets
- Communicate professionally and clearly with the customer’s global event team and crew members
- Deliver outstanding customer service, especially for VIP presenters before, during, and after events
- Maintain diligent event documentation using centralized ticketing systems such as Jira
- Create clear documentation and user guides for AV systems and technical processes
- Take on additional duties as required – every day brings something new!

What We’re Looking For
- A strong communicator who thrives in a team setting and can engage confidently with executive-level professionals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal abilities and a collaborative mindset
- Flexibility to adapt to different crew roles to meet event requirements
- Self-motivated and able to work independently when required
Technical Expertise:
Video Conferencing & Event Platforms:
- Google Meet, Zoom, StreamShark
Audio-Visual Systems:
- Crestron, Yamaha QL1/TF1, Ross Video, vMix, Blackmagic, Quicklink, AJA, Clearcom, Unilumin LED Walls, Shure Wireless Microphones, Vaddio PTZ cameras and controls
Required Education and Experience
- 3+ years experience working in live events or broadcast environments
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2+ years of customer support experience in a technical environment
- Experience using GSuite
- Proficient in both macOS and Microsoft Windows Operating Systems

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- 3+ years’ experience in live events or broadcast environments
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years’ technical customer support experience
- Confident using GSuite
- Proficiency with both macOS and Microsoft Windows
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical production, creative media, or related field
- 4+ years’ technical production experience in live event or corporate settings, including configuring, operating, and troubleshooting production equipment
- Additional customer support experience
- Familiarity with Vectorworks, CAD, or similar drafting tools
- Previous experience in a start-up or technology-driven environment
- Relevant professional certifications
