Introduction
The Investor Relations Society, the UK’s professional body for investor relations, is seeking an energetic, proactive Events & Marketing Executive to join our executive team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a varied role, and wants to play an important part in growing and nurturing a vibrant professional community.
Working in a small, highly collaborative team, you’ll be central to delivering a programme of high quality events, and responsible for the operational delivery of cross-channel marketing activity with a focus on digital channels.
We’re based at Birchin Court in the heart of the City of London. We operate a flexible and hybrid work structure, with two to three days a week in the office and increased presence around key events.
About the Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Head of Events & Marketing in the development, planning and execution of the Society’s events programme (conference, awards dinner, events, webinars)
- Managing pre-event and post-event administration, including invitations, registration, attendee communications and follow-up
- Supporting regular on-site event delivery, including event setup, welcoming attendees and coordinating speakers and suppliers
- Working with venues, hosts, suppliers, audiovisual teams, caterers and other contractors
- Coordinating the Society’s cross-channel marketing calendar across email, digital, social media and print
- Assisting the entry and judging process for the Society’s Best Practice Awards
- Producing and coordinating content and marketing materials for the Society’s website, newsletters, social media channels, presentations, brochures and Informed magazine
- Supporting relationships with sponsors, partners and agencies, while ensuring that event and marketing materials are consistent with the Society’s brand, messaging and tone of voice

This is a varied, hands-on role where you will contribute to the delivery of high-profile events and campaigns. You will see the impact of your work across the Society’s membership and wider stakeholder community, while gaining insight into investor relations and the financial markets as part of your professional development.
About You
You’ll bring a positive attitude, excellent organisational skills and an enthusiastic approach to delivering events and marketing activities. The ideal candidate may already have experience in events, marketing, communications in a professional membership environment. An understanding of investor relations and financial markets will be an advantage.

We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience of delivering high-quality events and marketing activity across a range of formats and channels
- Experience of using CRMs, websites, email marketing platforms, social media channels and Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong administrative and coordination experience
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines
- A professional, customer-focused approach when working with members, speakers, sponsors, partners and suppliers
- Team ethos, a collaborative mindset, and a creative approach
Working arrangements
- This is a permanent, full-time appointment based at the Society’s office in Birchin Court in the City of London.
- The Society operates a flexible hybrid working model, with employees normally expected to work from the office two to three days each week. The role also requires regular attendance at in-person events, some of which may take place outside normal office hours.
