Oastbrook Estate Vineyard – Bodiam, East Sussex
Part-time
Oastbrook is an award-winning, family-owned English vineyard and winery in the beautiful Rother Valley, close to Bodiam Castle.
We grow our own grapes, make our wines from the estate and welcome visitors for vineyard tours, tastings, events and stays in our luxury vineyard accommodation.
We are looking for an energetic, commercially minded and entrepreneurial Events & Wine Club Manager to help us take the next stage of our hospitality business forward.
The Opportunity
This isn’t simply an events administration role. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who can create opportunities as well as manage them.
We want someone who will look at Oastbrook, our vineyard, wines, customers and location and constantly be thinking: what else could we do?
You will take responsibility for developing Oastbrook’s events business, with a particular focus on private celebrations, corporate events and hospitality, wine dinners, tastings, vineyard experiences and our own programme of events. We also host occasional weddings and other bespoke celebrations.
Alongside this, you will help grow and support the Oastbrook Wine Club, developing events and experiences for our members and turning more of the people who discover Oastbrook into long-term customers and advocates.
You will work directly with the owners and have considerable freedom to develop ideas, test new opportunities and make them happen.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will:
- Proactively identify and develop new commercial opportunities for events and experiences
- Generate and convert new event enquiries
- Grow our private events, corporate hospitality and vineyard experiences
- Develop a programme of Oastbrook events, tastings and wine dinners
- Create new event concepts and test which ones have the greatest commercial potential
- Manage events from first enquiry through to delivery
- Manage occasional weddings and larger celebrations
- Build relationships with prospective clients, local businesses, event planners, tourism organisations and hospitality partners
- Grow Oastbrook Wine Club membership
- Identify opportunities to convert vineyard visitors, customers and event guests into members
- Look after existing Wine Club members and ensure they feel part of the Oastbrook community
- Create exclusive tastings, dinners, new-release events and experiences for members
- Encourage member referrals and improve membership retention and engagement
- Work with the owners on event and Wine Club marketing
- Ensure events are properly costed, commercially successful and delivered to a high standard

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Most importantly, you will help create the kind of experience that makes people want to come back to Oastbrook, buy our wines, join the Wine Club and recommend us to their friends.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re less concerned about your exact background than your attitude, commercial instinct and ability to make things happen.
You might already work in events, hospitality, restaurants, hotels, visitor attractions, wine tourism or another premium customer-facing business. You may also have run your own business or developed events or hospitality projects yourself.
You’ll need to be:
Entrepreneurial – you spot opportunities, come up with ideas and have the drive to turn them into something commercially successful.
Commercial – you understand that great hospitality and great customer experiences also need to generate profitable business.
Proactive – you don’t wait for enquiries to arrive; you look for ways to generate them.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
A people person – you naturally build relationships and make people feel welcome.
Organised – you can keep multiple events, customers and suppliers under control.
Creative – you have ideas for experiences people will actually want to attend.
Hands-on – you’re happy to get involved and make things happen rather than simply coordinate from a desk.
Independent – you can take ownership of an area of the business without needing constant direction.
An interest in wine would be a major advantage, but you don’t need to arrive as a wine expert. We’ll help you develop your knowledge of Oastbrook and our wines.
Because this is an events and hospitality role, flexibility will be important and some weekend and evening work will be required.
What Success Looks Like
After your first year, we’d expect to see:
More events. New event concepts. Growing event revenue. More repeat customers. More Wine Club members. Better member engagement. And more people discovering and becoming part of Oastbrook.
As the events and membership business grows, we would like the role to grow with it, creating the potential for the successful candidate to move from part-time to full-time.
Why Join Oastbrook?
This is an opportunity for someone who wants more freedom than a conventional events management role.
You’ll work directly with the owners of an independent vineyard business and have the opportunity to develop your own ideas, build new revenue streams and see the results of what you create.
We are looking for someone who wants to build something, not simply manage something.
If you’re entrepreneurial, love hospitality, enjoy selling and building relationships, and like the idea of creating memorable experiences at an English vineyard, we’d like to hear from you.
