About the Role

We are a dynamic local authority providing essential services to the people of Gloucester. Our main office, based in the Eastgate Centre on Eastgate Street in the heart of the city, is an accessible, modern, and light space designed for collaborative working and finding new ways to work. It's all open plan, with a living green wall and other plants without set desks, so you can sit next to someone new every day. We're always looking to improve how we work and we offer flexible and agile working to give our people a great work-life balance.

Gloucester Guildhall is looking for two part-time Events Assistants to join the team for 18.5 hours per week!

Are you an experienced Events Assistant or have a genuine passion for arts and culture? If so, there’s never been a more exciting time to join the Guildhall team!

As an Events Assistant, you will be at the heart of our dynamic cultural programme, which features a mix of live music, comedy, film, dance, circus, and immersive experiences. You will form a key part of our Operations Team working collaboratively to ensure the seamless execution of all aspects of our events.

What we need from you

As an Events Assistant, you will possess strong interpersonal skills, helping you to offer a lasting, memorable experience to all our artists and customers from the moment they walk through our doors and to the moment they depart.

Working as part of a dynamic team, you will assist with event set-ups and event delivery and carry out venue resets in line with the event schedule, under the guidance of the Operations Supervisors. You will have the ability to think on the spot and remain calm under pressure, understanding that events can be variable and making the customer needs a priority.

You will maintain a strong awareness of health and safety procedures and will undertake duties including fire warden and first aid. Successful completion of Evac Chair Operator training will be a condition of appointment, this will be tested early within the probation period.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
