About Novabook
Novabook is the future of accounting. We have a software engineering team automating day to day accounting processes, whilst we have an amazing team of the best accountants managing client relationships & delivery to create the best outcomes for clients. Our team previously founded, scaled and sold a technology company for $50M and we plan to 100x this at Novabook.
Why join us?
We are a small, rapidly growing team of 50 people at the moment (18 people in the engineering & product team, 6 people in the sales & marketing team). Our first venture together was senecalearning.com, which scaled to 12M users and a successful acquisition in 2022.
After launching in May 2024, we already have hundreds of clients, millions in ARR and are growing quickly. This is an opportunity to join the ride at an early stage. We’ve raised over £10M in capital to scale Novabook.
Novabook was born out of our personal experiences with the shortcomings of traditional accountancy practices while running Seneca. After dealing with inefficient software and unreliable accountancies for 8 years, we believe it's time to tackle these challenges head-on.
Culture
We are well-funded but the hardest period of a start-up is always the first couple of years, when the team is small, and you are heavily relied on personally. But this also exposes you to the most interesting period of a company’s lifecycle and also the period where you can learn the most & earn the most material rewards. You won’t be expected to work evenings & weekends, but you will be expected to work hard when on the job.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About the role
Events are a core part of our growth strategy. Our event series has grown our network to 10,000+ founders and investors in less than two years. They are central to our brand awareness, partnership retainment and finding new business. We host our own weekly events and also sponsor partner events where relevant.
We are looking for an Events Associate to join our Growth team and help ideate, plan, and deliver our weekly events.
You’ll play a hands-on role across the full event lifecycle; from developing concepts and curating guest lists to making sure everything runs seamlessly on the night. You’ll typically attend around two events per week, most of which take place in the evenings.
For us, a great event means a full room of high-quality founders, a seamless experience from start to finish, and an atmosphere people genuinely enjoy and want to come back to.
You’ll work closely with the Partnerships Director and CEO, as well as alongside the Sales team to ensure our events build strong relationships and generate a healthy pipeline of relevant leads. We’re a young, ambitious and hard-working team that moves quickly, has high standards, and has a lot of fun along the way.
Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Taking responsibility on running our repeat event series, including private founder dinners, networking socials, pitch events and panel events.
- Running campaigns to find exciting new startups and founders, and inviting them to our events, ensuring we always have a full and high quality room.
- Supporting on planning and running internal socials including office events, quarterly socials for the whole company and ad hoc events for the team.
- Managing key promotional channels including WhatsApp communities, LinkedIn presence and online footprint to help promote our events and attract audiences.
- Ideating epic event formats that will help build our brand within the startup community.
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring all expenses are tracked and events deliver high return on investment.
- Responsible for event guests and registrations using analytical skills to select the best and most promising registrants.
- Identifying relevant events to sponsor that will deliver high return on investment.
- Help to build out our partnership pipeline, identifying new opportunities and partners we should be working with and facilitating introductions to the Partnerships Director.

- You’re interested in the UK startup ecosystem and ideally already have a network within it, although this isn’t essential.
- You’re proactive and self-sufficient. You’re comfortable taking ownership, figuring things out and getting things done with minimal guidance, while also being a great team player.
- You’re a clear and confident communicator, both written and spoken, with native-level fluency in English.
- You’re comfortable speaking and presenting in front of a room, whether that’s 10 people or 100+.
