Events & Business Development Coordinator

Emerson College, Forest Row, East Sussex (Ruskin Mill Land Trust)

Salary: £32,000 per annum

This is a fully onsite working role so please consider the location and commute ahead of applying.

Emerson College is seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Events & Business Development Coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering inspiring events, retreats, workshops and conferences while helping to grow our events business.

About the Role:

You will be the main point of contact for event organisers, coordinating bookings from initial enquiry through to successful delivery. Working closely with colleagues across hospitality, accommodation, catering, facilities and administration, you will ensure every event runs smoothly and provides an exceptional guest experience.

Alongside event coordination, you will proactively identify new business opportunities, develop client relationships and support the growth of Emerson College's events programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage event enquiries, site visits and client communications.
  • Coordinate event logistics including venues, accommodation, catering and equipment.
  • Produce accurate event plans and internal briefs.
  • Provide on-site support during selected events.
  • Develop relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Research and generate new business opportunities.
  • Maintain booking records and support invoicing processes.
  • Gather feedback and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience coordinating events in a busy, customer-facing environment.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong administration skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence building relationships and developing new business opportunities.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A flexible approach and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
