We create high-impact activities in partnership with local employers to inspire young people, increase their awareness of future opportunities and equip them with the skills they need to succeed in the workplace. About the role

The Events Co-ordinator and Facilitator will deliver engaging events and activities for young people, teachers and business ambassadors, helping to bring the world of work to life. The role includes managing events and activities from booking and planning through to delivery, evaluation and review.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with and present content to young people aged 5 to 19 who may be attending school or college, or who are not currently in education, employment or training. Sessions may be delivered on a one-to-one basis or to groups.
  • Create a project plan for each allocated event, with clear milestones agreed with the events manager.
  • Liaise with and recruit business ambassadors to support the delivery of activities, using their industry knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to inspire young people about the world of work.
  • Build effective relationships with key contacts in schools, businesses and partner organisations to achieve shared objectives.
  • Design and produce engaging presentations, resources and materials for workshops and events aimed at young people, business volunteers, teachers and parents.
  • Understand and follow funder reporting requirements, ensuring that all activities are evaluated, recorded and reviewed promptly.
  • Contribute to the promotion and celebration of programme outcomes and achievements.
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures are always followed.

Location & commitments

  • Permanent Contract. Full time: 35 hours per week (Part-time, Term time only will be considered).
  • Salary: Starting from FTE £27,500 per annum depending on experience.
  • Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm, with 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Hours will be flexible depending on event timings.
  • Office base in Slough, with flexible working available; regular in person delivery is essential.
  • Travel to various schools/locations in and around the Berkshire/Buckinghamshire/West London area.
  • Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and appropriate safer recruitment checks.

Candidate requirements

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to adapt your style according to different audiences and the situation.
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to plan and manage key milestones and work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to confidently use virtual communication platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams.
  • Good IT skills and experience working with databases.
  • A full and clean driving licence and the daily use of a car.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the education system, particularly secondary education.
  • Knowledge of schools, businesses and communities within the local area would be an advantage.
  • Local knowledge of the schools and businesses in the area.
