The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Events & Conferences Manager to join our MarComms team to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of Stantec's UK&I events and conference programme.
This is a highly visible and influential role that sits at the centre of our brand, client engagement and business development activity. From major industry conferences and sponsorships to client events, exhibitions, office openings and internal marketing events, you'll ensure every opportunity is strategically assessed, expertly delivered and aligned to clear business outcomes.
You'll also play a unique role in shaping event management best practice across the wider global business, acting as a trusted advisor and champion for colleagues in emerging markets.
About The Role
As Events & Conferences Manager, you'll oversee the full lifecycle of event activity, from initial opportunity assessment and business case development through to delivery, measurement and post-event reporting.
Working closely with marketing, communications, PR, digital, creative, business development and operational leaders, you'll manage event programmes that strengthen our market presence, deepen client relationships and support strategic growth objectives.
You'll coordinate delegate and speaker programmes, manage sponsorship opportunities and supplier relationships, oversee budgets and expenditure, and ensure all event communications, materials and brand assets are delivered to the highest standard. The role also takes ownership of Stantec's merchandise and event materials programme, including management of our internal merchandise store and associated supplier relationships.
Your Impact
You'll help position Stantec at the forefront of the markets we serve by creating high-quality events and experiences that showcase our expertise, strengthen client connections and enhance our reputation.
Through effective planning, stakeholder engagement and commercial oversight, you'll maximise the value of event investment and ensure every activity contributes to measurable business outcomes. Your reporting and evaluation processes will provide clear insight into performance, enabling informed decisions on future investment and opportunities.
Beyond the UK&I, you'll help establish and share event management best practice across the global business, supporting colleagues in developing consistent, high-quality approaches to conferences, sponsorships and client engagement activities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
