Events Assistant Apprentice
An Events Assistant Apprentice is a junior, hands-on role focused on supporting the end-to-end planning, logistics, and delivery of live, virtual, or hybrid events while working toward a formal qualification.
You will be involved in:

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What You'll Do at Work
- Support the planning and delivery of Liverpool Chamber’s events programme, working closely with the Events Manager to help deliver a competitive and engaging range of events that provides value to members and the wider business community.
- Assist with the coordination and operational delivery of events, supporting event logistics, venues, suppliers, delegates, speakers, and event materials to ensure every detail is planned and delivered to a high standard.
- Provide an excellent experience for attendees, acting as a welcoming and professional point of contact before, during, and after events and supporting members, guests, speakers, and partners throughout their experience.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Chamber, particularly the Membership, Marketing, and International teams, to support events that contribute to wider business objectives, engagement activity, and member needs.
- Support the promotion and communication of events, working with the Marketing team to ensure event information is accurate, engaging, and communicated effectively to relevant audiences.
- Maintain accurate event information and records, supporting delegate lists, bookings, event communications, budgets, and post-event feedback, while ensuring information is kept up to date and organized. Our event contacts are managed through our CRM system, and the person in this role will be expected to keep them up to date and accurate.
- Contribute ideas and feedback to help enhance the events programme and member experience, developing an understanding of the local business community and the role Liverpool Chamber plays within the wider business ecosystem.

What You'll Learn
Course Contents
Operational:
- Gather facts and collate information in response to a brief or request, like searching for the right location and venue for an event.
- Respond to requests from the different functional teams and carry out a variety of daily and weekly tasks to assist in the planning and preparation of an event.
- Provide assistance onsite at an event by registering delegates or by helping to assist the onsite team with a variety of tasks.
- Manage your time effectively by understanding how to prioritize tasks according to their importance and urgency for the stakeholders of an event.
- Use software packages to create word processing and spreadsheet documents.
- Contribute to reports, event project plans, and written presentations for clients.
- Use a range of event technology platforms and in-house bespoke software systems and databases.
- Show careful attention to regulations and internal policies.
Professional:
- Listen, interpret, understand, vocalize, and respond to clients’ needs.
- Speak and write clearly in order to prepare written communications or provide instructions that are needed for a client, supplier, or team member.
- Build rapport and trust with the stakeholders of an event so that stakeholders can collaborate well throughout the planning and organization processes.
- Question effectively to ensure understanding of what is required from clients or colleagues.
- Have the skills to maintain relationships with colleagues, suppliers, or clients once they are built, and be able to repair them when they are damaged.
- Work effectively within a group environment to prepare for, deliver, and/or follow up after an event takes place.
Commercial:
- Assist in the preparation, management, and reconciliation of event budgets by collecting information, checking data, and making calculations.
- Show how commercial awareness has been applied through task and time management, specifically using efficient and effective measures to conclude a project in the most proficient way.

Training Schedule
- Online learning which will happen once per month, for roughly 1-2 hours per session, with the tutor assigned by Access Industry, along with on-the-job learning from your employer.
- There will also be a requirement of 'off the job learning' granted from the employer.
- Off-the-job training will follow the time allocations outlined in the Occupational Standard.
