Company Description

Searcys are looking for an Events Driver/Logistics Porter to join the Searcys Events team.

The Driver will spend much of the role delivering food and equipment from one location to another. When at the event venue, they are required to unload the vehicle, help set up, break down and be involved in any ad hoc logistic support.

We create fabulous events whatever or wherever the space. We’ve shown time and again that we know our clients inside out, providing outstanding hospitality in complex and historically or culturally sensitive spaces.

Job Description

This role is perfect for someone who has an interest in hospitality and catering logistics as this role has the potential to develop into other roles in our business.

Job Type: 0 Hours Contract

Hourly Rate: £15.00ph

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading equipment into vehicles returning or being dispatched to events.
  • Smooth and efficient turnaround of catering equipment and vehicles.
  • Working to detailed checklists and ensuring everything is accurate.
  • Driving and delivering to events.
  • To follow traffic laws and correctly calculate the route to the venues.
  • Safe use of company vehicle, ensuring the vehicle has enough petrol for each journey.
  • Excellent communication skills working closely with the on-site events team.
  • Competent and experienced driver with UK or EU licence.
  • Working in accordance with Searcys Health and Safety and Manual Handling Policies.
  • Ensure all the BOH areas are tidy by putting away all the deliveries.
  • Ensure the Wine cellar is tidy and organized after every delivery.

Qualifications

  • Full, clean, manual/Automatic UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • Personable, responsible and reliable
  • Experience with driving in London (desirable)
  • Be physically able to do manual handling (lifting and carrying)
  • Enjoys working in a team, but motivated to work alone
  • Can do attitude
  • Previous Hospitality experience
