Events Executive
Location: Hybrid – Central London / Remote [Wednesdays in the office, plus event attendance]
Salary: Competitive
About the role
We are looking for an ambitious, organised and proactive Events Executive to join our small and collaborative team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with around 1 - 2 years' experience in events, hospitality, a venue or a similar environment who is ready to take the next step in their career. You don't need to have done everything before – in fact, we are looking for someone we can train, develop and grow.
Working closely with the Head of Operations, you will play a hands-on role in delivering our programme of events, including our flagship annual UKBAA Angel Investor Awards and Early-Stage Investment Summit, as well as the Angel Group Symposium, Angel Forum, Future Forward Series, webinars, member socials and other ad-hoc events.
You will be involved in our events from start to finish – from the initial planning and registration through to working with speakers and suppliers, managing the event on the day and evaluating its success afterwards.
This position has significant scope for development, with increasing responsibility and ownership as you grow your experience and demonstrate your capabilities. This is a role for someone who wants to build a career in events, rather than simply work in events.
What you'll be doing
Event planning and delivery
- Support the planning and delivery of a varied programme of in-person and virtual events, from small member events through to large-scale flagship conferences and awards.
- Take responsibility for event registration, attendee management and guest communications.
- Coordinate event websites, registration forms and event information, working with the wider team to ensure these are accurate, timely and engaging.
- Manage speaker administration and act as a key point of contact for speakers before, during and after events.
- Liaise with venues, suppliers and contractors to coordinate event requirements and ensure everything is delivered as planned.
- Support the development and management of event schedules, running orders, production requirements and logistics.
- Work closely with Marketing to develop and deliver promotional campaigns that drive registrations and engagement.
- Coordinate event materials, signage, badges, presentations and other event requirements.
- Attend events and take an active role in their delivery, including set-up, registration, speaker management, troubleshooting and ensuring the event runs smoothly.
- Take ownership of issues as they arise and find practical solutions quickly and professionally.
- Coordinate post-event feedback and surveys and use the results to identify improvements for future events.
- Maintain accurate event records, documentation and databases.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Working across the team
We are a small team, which means there are no huge walls between departments – and that's one of the things that makes working here interesting.
You will work most closely with the Head of Operations, but will also collaborate regularly with our Marketing, Programmes, and Membership teams, as well as the wider organisation.
You'll need to be comfortable pitching in, helping colleagues and getting involved in things outside your immediate to-do list when needed. In return, you'll get exposure to a broad range of the organisation and a much better understanding of how events contribute to the wider business.
Your development
We are deliberately hiring this role at an early stage in someone's career because we want to develop the right person rather than simply hire someone who already knows everything.
Initially, you'll work closely with the Head of Operations, receiving guidance and support across the full event lifecycle. As your confidence and capability grow, you'll progressively take ownership of larger and more complex events and more areas of the events function.
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised and naturally attentive to detail.
- Proactive – you don't wait to be told what needs doing.
- Accountable – you take ownership of your work and follow things through.
- Honest and trustworthy, particularly when things don't go to plan.
- Curious and willing to learn – you don't need to know everything, but you do need to want to learn.
- Comfortable juggling multiple events, deadlines and competing priorities.
- Practical and solutions-focused when things go wrong.
- Confident communicating with a wide range of people, from attendees and suppliers to senior stakeholders, speakers and sponsors.
- Naturally sociable and personable. We're a small team and enjoy working with people who contribute to the culture as well as the work.
- Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility in a predominantly remote environment.
- Excited by the prospect of developing into a senior events role.
Experience
We'd ideally like you to have around 1–2 years' experience in events, hospitality, a venue, agency, in-house events or a similar role.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
However, we're much more interested in attitude than a perfect CV. You don't need a degree, and you don't need experience of every aspect of event management. If you've demonstrated that you're organised, reliable, hardworking, curious and good with people, we'd love to hear from you.
The working environment
We are a small, collaborative team with a predominantly remote working model. We currently spend one day a week together in our central London office, with the rest of the week worked remotely.
Because we're a small team, being comfortable working independently is important – but so is enjoying working with other people. We value people who communicate openly, ask questions, share ideas and are happy to get stuck in.
Events will also require you to be hands-on and present on the day, including occasional travel and work outside standard office hours depending on the event schedule.
What success looks like
After your first 12 months, we'd expect you to be:
- Confidently managing the end-to-end delivery of a number of events.
- Taking ownership of speakers, suppliers, registrations and event logistics.
- Working independently with Marketing on event campaigns.
- Managing sponsor fulfilment and commercial event requirements.
- Confidently managing events on the day.
- Tracking budgets and event performance.
- Trusted by the wider team to get things done without needing to be chased.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to join a small, ambitious team at a point where you can have a genuine impact and build something of your own. You'll get exposure to some of the most senior and influential people in the UK early-stage investment ecosystem, work across a broad portfolio of events, and learn every part of the event lifecycle.
Most importantly, you'll have a clear opportunity to progress. We are not looking for someone to remain an Events Executive indefinitely. We want to invest in the right person, give them increasing responsibility and ultimately hand them ownership of the events function.
If you're organised, ambitious, sociable and ready to build a career in events, we'd love to hear from you.
Additional benefits
- 27 days of annual leave (not including Bank Holidays)
- Half-day Fridays over the summer
- Summer and Christmas team away days
- Access to our pension scheme with employer contributions
