Events & Groups Planning Manager
As Events & Groups Planning Manager, you will be responsible for the successful event planning and overall execution of all Groups, Meetings and Events that take place within the hotel.
The role involves managing and delivering the final details for our client’s events at The May Fair Hotel from handover stage. You will be responsible for maintaining effective and appropriate liaison with our clients throughout the planning process, coordinating and planning site inspections and menu tastings where appropriate. This includes upselling opportunities such as Food, Drinks, Event space, and accommodation.
You will be responsible for meeting and greeting all key clients upon arrival for their event and attending/managing weekly events meetings with F&B and Operations teams based on events for the week ahead.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of Events and Groups Planning within a multi-million-pound meetings and events revenue-generating, 5-star hotel operation.
- Proven organizational skills, independence, and excellent stress management.
- Ability to set and meet deadlines with quality results.
- Proficient in IT applications including Opera, Delphi, and Salesforce.
- Excellent Sales and Negotiation skills.
- Confident with the ability to build new strong relationships and proactively nurture legacy relationships.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent grooming standards.
- This role requires a proactive and dynamic individual capable of managing end-to-end event processes.
- Strong emphasis on client satisfaction and the ability to handle high-pressure situations with poise.
- In line with the requirements of the Asylum & Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

Responsibilities
- Successful event planning and overall execution of all Groups, Meetings and Events.
- Interacting with customers and guests to learn about their needs and develop relationships.
- Managing and delivering final details for client events from handover stage.
- Maintaining effective liaison with clients throughout the planning process.
- Coordinating and planning site inspections and menu tastings.
- Upselling opportunities (Food, Drinks, Event space, accommodation).
- Meeting and greeting key clients upon arrival.
- Attending/managing weekly events meetings with F&B and Operations teams.
